Team Captains
We all have childhood chums who were always the ones to rally friends together, gather them up and get people to play and do things together. Well, Playeum was founded by two of such friends who came together, motivated by a passion to fulfil a need amongst children and families living in Singapore.
And here’s Sumitra and Jennifer’s story…
We met when both our kids were in a drama workshop together and that was the beginning of our journey together. We had grown up in Asia, studied abroad in different continents, met our husbands and came home with our children. Singapore as a place to live was an easy choice to make for a young family – solid working infrastructure, safe, clean and plenty of opportunities. However, not long after being here, we began to recognise some gaps. Hence, we began earnestly on our quest to fill these gaps and what we saw crystallized into a vision… our vision of a space where:
… children can create freely
… families reconnect through play
… we are all free to explore, to invent, to perform, to wonder…
We hope that more and more people will come to share our ideals and be part of this movement to promote play, something so natural and precious in this day and age.

Arts Manager
Catherine is like the Playeum logo – she incredulously has many arms juggling along with our Team Captains, and involved in Product Development and Programme Development. She indeed lives out the Playeum vision and our aspirations.
Operations Manager
Our Operations Manager is someone who keeps the engine running and ensures the smooth operations of the back-office whilst the rest of the team gets going with the game at play.
