ACTIVITY 2:
WE DRAW! COMMUNITY MURAL
The artist has a very distinctive style in brush techniques and will be working alongside the children and families to create large pieces of work. The artist’s response to the site and participants of The Big Draw will be spontaneous as he draws on the canvas. Children and families are invited to join him and create the community artwork together.
About Mike Foo:
Mike (aka moof) is an artist, toy creator and co-founder of Woods in the Books, a specialist bookshop on Club Street. Mike has ten years of experience as an art director, and web and graphic designer.
In recent years, having picked up the pen and brush again, he discovered his passion in the beauty of lines and strokes. His training in chinese calligraphy has helped him further understand and appreciate the fundamentals of drawing and painting. The driver behind moof is to move people with his works. He gets inspiration from Nature. Mike concedes that he cannot stop drawing and painting. Mike’s works emote a sense of whimsical serenity.
